Key Ingredients

Aloe Barbanensis Leaf Juice

Aloe vera comes from ancient history, showing us that aloe vera is one of the oldest mentioned plants on record due to its medicinal properties and health benefits. There are descriptions of its use during the reign of the Emperor Nero to alleviate skin irritation, sunburn, and acne. The Egyptian queens Cleopatra and Nefertiti used aloe as part of their daily skincare regime. Chinese treatment books referred to aloe vera as the “method of harmony” for the healing role it played in their everyday life. Japanese even used the liquid from the plant as an elixir, and Samurai used it to relieve pain. Various tribes of the Americas were using the plant for healing. In fact, aloe was one of the 16 “holy plants” worshiped by the indigenous people, bestowing a gold-like status on it.

Aloe vera (barbadensis Miller) is grown commercially for the health and moisturizing benefits found inside its leaves. Each leaf contains a slimy tissue that stores water, and this makes the leaves thick. This water-filled tissue is the “gel” that people associate with aloe vera products.

The gel contains most of the beneficial bioactive compounds in the plant, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. Aloe works differently than most moisturizes – it actively takes the moisture into the tissues.

Aloe Vera has multiple benefits:

  • Antibacterial, antiviral, and antiseptic properties
  • Increase collagen production and improved skin elasticity
  • Prevent redness, itching, and infections
  • Could help the skin retain moisture and improve skin integrity
  • Moisturizing
  • Reduce acne
  • Brightens dark spots
  • Depuffs skin
  • Lightens blemishes

Tocopheryl Acetate is a specific type of vitamin E, one of the most potent antioxidant tocopherols. The antioxidants in vitamin E are known to protect the cell from damage that naturally occurs from free radicals.
